"For we walk by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Faith is not a feeling we generate on our best days. It is a settled confidence in who God is, tested and proven precisely on the days that are not our best.
Sight tells us what is visible right now — the bank balance, the diagnosis, the closed door, the silence after a prayer that has not yet been answered. Faith tells us something older and deeper: that God has been faithful before, that His character has not changed, and that His word still stands even when circumstances have not caught up to it.
Walking by faith does not mean ignoring reality. It means refusing to let reality have the final word. We can be honest about what we see and still choose to trust what we know about the One who sees further than we do.
This is why faith is described as a walk and not a single leap. It is daily. It is the decision, made again tomorrow morning, to keep trusting when the answer has not arrived yet — to keep obeying what God has already spoken, one step at a time, without seeing the whole staircase.
In every season — the harvest and the wilderness — faith becomes steady when our confidence is anchored in the King, not in the weather around us. Kingdoms shift. Circumstances change. He does not.
Wherever you are walking by faith right now, take heart. You are not asked to see everything. You are asked to trust the One who does.
